Good news, but since when did Russia have any kind of normal record on human rights? Putin threw young mothers from a girl band called Pussy Riot into prison FFS.

After years of Watchtower fighting the BAN in Russia.....
by Newly Enlightened ini apologize if this topic was already covered, i didn't have time to look thru several pages of posts.... after several years of fighting their ban in russia.
russian court declares jw's literature extremist:.

Latest hot pop song in NK - 'Dash to the Future'
by fulltimestudent in"dash to the future" (????
), performed live by moranbong band, on the party day (10.10.2013).. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djl2icczfeq.
the theme of the song would be considered (i guess) appropriate for a jw meet-up, after all everything that happened was for a (non-existent) future when everything would be rosy.

NK's really think their country is literally the greatest on earth and all other countries are corrupt and brainwashed and their citizens deceived. They believe their political leaders are saviours, truly enlightened, who protect them from the evil world outside and to whom they owe everything.
Similarities with JWs? Yes, for sure.
But don't tell this to Dennis Rodman

WT's Crazed Obsession!
by JW GoneBad ini have recently read for the umpteenth time the 4 gospel accounts.
what caught my attention this time around was how many times jesus makes mention of the endeared expression father (with f in caps) when referring to his god as recorded by matthew, mark, luke and john.. what was also interesting by comparison is how little jesus actually makes reference to his father on a first name basis (jehovah) in these four books.. note my findings with the help of the comprehensive concordance:.
jehovah: matthew 11 times mark 8 times luke 26 times john 4 times (total 49 times).. father: mathew 43 times mark 4 times luke 21 times john 119 times (total 187 times).. .

Remember, most early Christians were pagan converts, non-Jews. Paul went off preaching to heathens, not Jews. It would have been meaningless for Paul's heathen converts to read Hebrew characters YHWH or similar, for not only did they not read Hebrew but they would have identified God as being the God of the Jews only. They would have felt they were converting to some Jewish cult. That's why in his speech at the Aeropagus Paul never once used the divine name to identify the one true God. The Father was now the God of all humanity, not just of the Jews. YHWH was the old covenant name for God. It was God's Jewish old covenant name only, hence why God allowed it to disappear and why it is absent in all extant MSS.
Paul in his letters never used the divine name. Scholars agree Paul used a version of the Septuagint that did not contain the divine name. Romans 10:13 proves it beyond a doubt - Paul is quoting directly from a scripture in the OT that contained the divine name but the word "Lord" is used instead of YHWH. The context of Romans 10 clearly shows Paul intends the "Lord" at Rom 10:13 to mean Jesus not Jehovah. This shows how Paul had absolutely no regard for use of the divine name at all.

Fat Girls Guide to Life book
by love2Bworldly inanyone read the "fat girl's guide to life"?
i am reading it right now and finding it pretty interesting.
it makes me think outside the box a little bit about how much money is spent on products for people to lose weight, and how much money saturates the market and influences so much of the media.. the author's attitude is one i try to have-- exercise, be balanced in eating habits, drink water, take nutrition supplements, and don't obsess over dieting & what the scale says or about other people's judgements toward my weight.. right now, i already know why i am overweight-- i am eating to deal with my bipolar issues.

Black and white thinking. Men don't like bony, skinny, mannishly muscular women either. Men just like a woman to be her natural optimal weight. If that means she is naturally a bit bigger then that's ok. If she's maintaining her naturally optimal weight and that's not good enough for a bloke then he's just an asshole. There's a difference between a natural, firm voluptousness (as many of the women naturally are in the images at the top of this page) and a big flabby obese cellulite-covered person that the opposite sex inwardly grimaces at. So many women (and men) are in denial about this.

What is the Watchtower Society's published TRACK RECORD in speaking the truth over the last 100 years? See a list of nothing but the Watchtower's own quotes here:http://www.bible.ca/Jw-Prophecy.htm
Again, this is all nothing but Watchtower quotes. Judge them by their own words. No need for opposing websites to expose the ZERO CREDIBILITY the Watchtower Society has - they've done a good enough job doing that themselves.

The Bible's Viewpoint
Does the Bible Discourage Freedom of Thought?
Actually, incidents of book burning—a universal symbol of the suppression of freedom of thought and speech—have occurred in many countries and in many centuries. Often, it has been instigated by religious leaders who feared the effect that freedom of thought would have on the common man.
Awake! 2000 June 22 Do Not Be a Victim of Propaganda!
Do Not Be a Victim of Propaganda!
Also, if possible, try to check the track record of those speaking. Are they known to speak the truth? If "authorities" are used, who or what are they? Why should you regard this person—or organization or publication—as having expert knowledge or trustworthy information on the subject in question? If you sense some appeal to emotions, ask yourself, 'When viewed dispassionately, what are the merits of the message?'

Watchtower August 15, 1950 p. 263 Name and Purpose of The Watchtower
…The Watchtower… invites careful and critical examination of its contents in the light of the Scriptures.
The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life 1968 p.13 Why It Is Wise to Examine Your Religion
5 We need to examine, not only what we personally believe, but also what is taught by any religious organization with which we may be associated. Are its teachings in full harmony with God's Word, or are they based on the traditions of men? If we are lovers of the truth, there is nothing to fear from such an examination. It should be the sincere desire of every one of us to learn what God's will is for us, and then to do it.-John 8:32.
Awake! October 22, 1973 p. 6 Examine the Evidence
Reasonable persons agree that the only fair method is to examine the evidence on both sides, both for and against a disputed theory. That is how one arrives at the truth.

..if it helped you get through a rough spot to eat a bit more, then it was probably needed.
Sorry, but thats exactly the kind of erroneous, self-defeating thinking that keeps people trapped in obesity. This concept of "comfort food" is so dangerous and childish. It's like the belief that if you took up smoking again during a rough spot you probably needed to.
If you're feeling depressed, then going for a one-hour walk and enjoying nature will elevate your mood and sense of well-being much more than eating a cream bun or bowl of icecream. Overeating always leaves you feeling worse about yourself the next day.
Being badly overweight is extremely prematurely ageing to the body, no matter how good your 'skin' appears externally. It squeezes your internal organs, vascular system, stresses your heart, everything. And a woman's sexual attractiveness to a man is almost in direct proportion to how overweight she is. As a rule of thumb, the fatter she gets, the less sexually interested he gets. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but a lot of women really do need to wake up and deal with reality in this regard.

The four horsemen that began to ride in 1914 seem to have gone back into their stables since the end of WW2.
